Indian Scientists Working on 1st Ever Dengue DNA Vaccine

The world’s first DNA vaccine was approved for use in India recently. Developed by the Ahmedabad-based Zydus Cadila, ZyCoV-D is, as the name indicates, is a vaccine against Covid-19. Now, some researchers believe the technology — considered superior because DNA vaccines are easier to make and store, and, most importantly store an enormous amount of information — can be used to develop a vaccine for another tropical disease, dengue, a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes.

Successful Maiden Flight Test of Akash Prime Missile

A new version of the Akash Missile – ‘Akash Prime’ has been successfully flight tested from Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, Odisha on 27 September 2021. The missile intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial target mimicking enemy aircrafts, in its maiden flight test after improvements.

The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation the newly constructed campus of National Institute of Biotic Stress Management Raipur.  On the occasion, the Prime Minister also distributed the Green Campus Award to Agricultural Universities. He interacted with farmers who use innovative methods and address the gathering.
