IIT Guwahati Researchers Develop New Memory Architectures Methods to Boost Processor Speeds

IIT Guwahati researchers have developed methods to solve the problems in computer systems domain. Specific contributions being in multi-core processor-based systems that need an equally large on-chip memory to commensurate the data demands of applications and hence preventing energy consumption to ensure the temperature remains under the thermal design power (TDP) budget.

Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme

The scheme was launched by Raksha Mantri Mr. Rajnath Singh on May 08, 2020. The scheme would run for the duration of five years and envisages setting up of 6-8 Greenfield Defence Testing Infrastructure facilities that are required for defence and aerospace related production.

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the world’s second-largest refurbished state-of-the-art National Gene Bank at the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), Pusa, New Delhi. On this occasion, Shri Tomar said that the farmers of India are fully capable of accepting the challenges faced by the agriculture sector and conquering them. He said that our farmers are skilled human resources even without any major educational degree. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is constantly concerned about the welfare of the farmers and concrete steps have been taken by the government through several schemes to increase their income.

Premier Explosives Begins Shipping Rocket Motors to Israel

In a major leg-up for aerospace and defence manufacturing in India and Telangana, Hyderabad-based Premier Explosives Ltd, which is listed on BSE & NSE, on Friday said it has emerged as the first private player in India to export rocket motors with the first consignment being dispatched to Israel as part of a larger arrangement between Indian and Israeli companies.

Four More Sites of India Added to Ramsar List as Wetlands of International Importance

Four more wetlands from India get recognition from the Ramsar Secretariat as Ramsar sites. These sites are Thol and Wadhwana from Gujarat and Sultanpur and Bhindawas from Haryana. Informing this in a tweet message, Union Environment Minister, Shri Bhupender Yadav expressed happiness and stated that it is Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s special concern for the environment which has led to overall improvement in how India cares for its wetlands.
