The species, the Spoon-tailed Duskhawker (Gynacantha basiguttata), has now been identified from photographs taken along the Miao–Vijaynagar Road inside Namdapha. The finding represents the first verifiable photographic record of the species from Arunachal Pradesh and provides evidence strong enough for researchers to recommend its inclusion in India’s contemporary Odonata checklist.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo formally marked the commencement of the new excavation season during a visit to the site, where he inspected the trenches, archaeological remains and antiquities recovered during the first phase.
