India Receives Russian Proposal for Additional S-400 Systems as Major Air Defence Procurement Advances

The development was reported on 30 August 2026, with defence sources indicating that the Russian response to the Indian requirement had been received and was being processed. The proposed acquisition has been estimated in defence reporting at more than ₹50,000 crore, although the Ministry of Defence has not publicly released a final contract value or detailed squadron configuration for the new procurement.

ICAR-CIFRI Patents Indigenous Nano-Technology to Combat Fish Ectoparasites

The patent, granted on 27 August 2026, covers an invention titled “A Process for Nanoemulsifiable Concentrate Formulations of Hydrophobic Bioactive Molecules.” More importantly, the technology has already moved beyond laboratory research and has been translated into CIFRI ARGCURE®, a field-oriented formulation developed to control Argulus and other ectoparasites affecting cultured fish. The patent award was formally announced by the Government of India on 28 August.
