M-cap of BSE-Listed Companies Rises to Record INR 244 Lakh Crore

On Friday, the market capitalization of BSE-listed businesses reached an all-time high of Rs. 2,43,73,800.36 crore (US$ 3.33 trillion), owing to positive equities mood. On Friday, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose 175.62 points to close above 56,000 for the first time. It rose 239.13 points to 56,188.23 over the day.

Reliance Looks to Acquire Europe’s Largest Solar Panel Manufacturer

REC Group, Europe’s largest solar panel maker, is on the verge of being acquired by Reliance Industries. China National Chemical Corp (ChemChina) is expected to sell the company to Mukesh Ambani’s company for US$ 1-1.2 billion. RIL, which has enormous intentions for green energy, will benefit from the purchase by gaining access to cutting-edge technologies and worldwide manufacturing capabilities.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Eyes Offshore Wind Energy Projects

ONGC, India’s largest oil and gas company, is looking to generate electricity from wind on its extensive offshore holdings as part of its renewable energy portfolio, according to its chairman Mr. Subhash Kumar. In both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) owns oil and gas fields. That deep-sea experience is now being used to set wind turbines that could generate electricity that could be linked to land.
