Agriculture remains a major source of income for a large share of India’s population. At the same time, the sector is becoming more closely connected with food processing, logistics, storage and other value-added activities.
Public capital expenditure has risen from around ₹2 lakh crore in 2014–15 to ₹12.2 lakh crore in 2026–27. The railway budget has also increased substantially, from ₹32,000 crore to ₹2.78 lakh crore over the same period.
Hyderabad-based Svaya Robotics is attempting to build this new generation of intelligent machines within India. The company develops collaborative robotic arms, dual-arm humanoid systems, industrial-control software and embodied artificial-intelligence capabilities as an integrated robotics platform.

Reserve Bank of India data showed total reserves rising to $707.002 billion, compared with $692.866 billion in the previous week. The increase was the largest weekly rise since January 2026 and took reserves to a four-month high.

The figure represents a substantial increase from ₹6,88,194.11 crore in FY2024–25 and ₹6,36,619.87 crore in FY2023–24, showing sustained growth in India’s software and IT-enabled services exports. The figures were provided by Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Lok Sabha on August 12.
India had only one registered space start-up in 2014. By August 2026, the number had increased to around 440. India’s space economy is currently estimated at approximately USD 9 billion and is projected to reach USD 40–45 billion over the next decade.
