UltraTech disclosed to the stock exchanges that the newly commissioned facility has an installed capacity of 1,098,000 kilometres of house wires and light-duty cables. The plant forms part of the company’s approximately ₹1,800-crore investment programme announced in February 2025 to establish a significant presence in the wires and cables industry.
HFCL disclosed the agreement on September 1, 2026, saying the contract had been awarded by a global multinational corporation whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. The optical fibre cables will be supplied through HFCL’s overseas wholly owned subsidiary, with deliveries beginning in calendar year 2027 and continuing until December 2029.
The Army has identified applications for the system across both conventional warfare and sub-conventional operations, including situations in which combat engineers or assault teams must destroy fortified positions, breach obstacles, neutralise hazardous explosive threats or conduct controlled demolition while reducing the exposure of soldiers.
The company describes its approach as digitised construction. Its technology platform brings together large-format printers, specialised printable concrete, machine-control systems, slicing software and digital construction workflows rather than treating the printer as a standalone machine.
The system was unveiled in August 2026, with Digantara describing MOSAIC as a sovereign space-surveillance capability built in India for wide-area orbital monitoring. Rather than depending only on conventional sensors tasked against known objects, MOSAIC is designed to continuously scan sections of the sky, identify moving objects autonomously and convert those observations into orbital intelligence.
The collaboration will cover hazardous-environment robotics, confined-space operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, critical-infrastructure inspection, engineer support, AI-enabled inspection and remote sensing.
IESA welcomed the government’s formal notification of Semicon 2.0 on 31 August 2026, saying the programme could deepen India’s semiconductor capabilities, attract large-scale investment, generate high-value employment and strengthen the country’s position as a trusted participant in the global semiconductor supply chain.

The new Quantum Product Series was unveiled during C-DOT’s 43rd Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi on 31 August 2026. Developed by the telecom research and development organisation under the Department of Telecommunications, the portfolio covers systems intended for commercial telecommunications networks, enterprises, optical infrastructure, wireless communications and highly sensitive strategic and defence applications.
