Indian Infrastructures and Capabilities
The project will upgrade 31.02 kilometres of the Bagdogra–Panitanki–Kharibari–Galgalia section of National Highway 327, improving one of the important road links connecting northern West Bengal with Bihar and routes leading toward Northeast India. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the approval on September 3, 2026.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways currently lists 12 operational Major Ports under the administrative control of the Government of India: Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Paradip, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Kamarajar, V.O. Chidambaranar, Cochin, New Mangalore, Mormugao, Mumbai, Jawaharlal Nehru and Deendayal Port.
The Sehore project represents more than an increase in CG Power’s factory space. Its combination of 45,000 MVA annual capacity, 220–1,200 kV manufacturing capability and export-oriented production establishes a new large-scale centre for advanced transformer manufacturing in India.
BDL currently lists four manufacturing units: Hyderabad, Bhanur and Ibrahimpatnam in Telangana, and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It is also developing additional facilities at Amravati in Maharashtra and Jhansi in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
Bengaluru-based NoPo Nanotechnologies is working in precisely this field. The company develops and manufactures single-walled carbon nanotubes, or SWCNTs, an advanced carbon material with potential applications across batteries, semiconductors, water purification, aerospace systems, electronics, composites and specialised coatings.
The overall project is planned with 232.4 MWp of renewable generation capacity and approximately 201 MWh of battery energy storage, meaning a substantial majority of the planned generation capacity has now entered operation. The latest addition leaves approximately 54.8 MWp of planned generation capacity yet to be commissioned if the project is completed according to its currently disclosed configuration.
The solar facility will have an installed capacity of 110 MW AC and will be developed in Uttar Pradesh specifically under the captive-power model. Instead of selling its electricity into the general market, the project will primarily supply power required for operation of the Namo Bharat system.
The company describes its approach as digitised construction. Its technology platform brings together large-format printers, specialised printable concrete, machine-control systems, slicing software and digital construction workflows rather than treating the printer as a standalone machine.
The scale of this achievement is visible in the latest international petroleum statistics. According to OPEC’s Annual Statistical Bulletin 2026, India exported approximately 1.386 million barrels per day of petroleum products during calendar year 2025. That volume placed India ahead of major Middle Eastern petroleum producers including Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iran, Iraq and Bahrain in refined-product exports.
The Foundation for QC Innovation, or FQCI, has been incorporated as a Section 8 not-for-profit company by IISc Bengaluru under the National Quantum Mission implemented by the Department of Science and Technology.
