The demand story is changing because electricity is no longer being pulled only by households and traditional industry. New demand centres are emerging from data centres, electric mobility, cooling systems, agriculture pumps, electronics manufacturing, industrial corridors and policy-backed manufacturing sectors. These areas require not only more electricity, but also more reliable electricity across different times of the day.

The consultation paper reviews the existing regulatory framework and identifies the major challenges slowing the growth of public Wi-Fi services. TRAI has invited suggestions from stakeholders on measures needed to improve public Wi-Fi availability, especially in rural areas, urban centres and high-footfall locations such as markets, transport hubs, institutions and public spaces.

The additional four coaches include three AC Chair Car coaches and one Executive Class coach, which will increase the availability of reserved seats for passengers travelling between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The move is expected to benefit business travellers, students, daily commuters, tourists and other passengers who rely on the route for fast, comfortable and predictable inter-city movement.

The newly launched complex has been developed as a specialised hub for the production of high-speed rail components, particularly for India’s upcoming indigenous bullet train project. The facility is designed to manufacture advanced “B-28” train coaches, which will form the backbone of the country’s first domestically developed high-speed train.

For decades, the Khambatki Ghat section was known for its steep curves, accident-prone stretches, and traffic congestion. The newly constructed tunnel now offers a safer alternative route, significantly reducing travel risks and improving driving conditions for commuters.

The latest update from the Ministry of Railways says the corridor will use the Japanese J-Slab ballastless track system, based on Shinkansen technology, for the first time in India. Unlike conventional railway tracks that use loose ballast stones, this system uses a reinforced concrete track bed, cement asphalt mortar, pre-cast track slabs, rails and fasteners to create a highly stable track structure suitable for high-speed operations.

The scheme is designed to support Indian participation in key international telecom forums such as the International Telecommunication Union, 3GPP and oneM2M, giving domestic stakeholders financial assistance for attending global meetings, submitting technical contributions, taking up leadership roles in study groups and hosting international standardisation events in India.
