On Saturday, the Finance Ministers of G-7 countries, including the US, the UK, Japan, Italy, Germany, France and Canada attained a historic contract on taxing multinational firms as per which the minimum global tax rate would be at least 15%.

In its series of State Level webinars that TRIFED conducted recently to review the progress of the implementation of the Van Dhan Yojana, one important outreach session was with the state teams and VDVKs of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The main focus of the session was to plan the operationalization of the sanctioned VDVKs and VDVKCs. Attendees from the UT (SIAs, SNAs, VDVKCs) were keyed up and geared to operationalize the currently sanctioned 10 VDVK cluster in the Union Territory with utmost urgency. NRLM is the implementing agency for the UT of Ladakh.
CSIR in collaboration with Laxai Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., has initiated Phase-II clinical trial with anti-helminitic drug Niclosamide for treatment of Covid-19. The trial is a multi-centric, phase-II, randomized, open label clinical study to evaluate efficacy, safety and tolerability of NIclosamide for the treatment of hospitalized Covid-19 patients. Niclosamide has been extensively used in past for treatment of tapeworm’s infection in adults as well as children. The safety profile of this drug has been tested over time and has been found safe for human consumption at different dose levels.
The ambitious double-tube Banihal-Qazigund tunnel along the 270-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway built at a cost of Rs 2,100 crore is going through the testing and commissioning process and is likely to become operational in coming weeks, officials of the construction company said on Sunday.

Procurement of Wheat in ongoing RMS 2021-22 is continuing smoothly in the procuring States at MSP, as was done in previous seasons and till now (upto 04.06.2021) a quantity of over 413.91 LMT of Wheat has been procured (which is all time high, as it has exceeded previous high 389.92 LMT of RMS 2020-21) against the last year corresponding purchase of 368.45 LMT. About 45.06 Lakh farmers have already been benefitted from the ongoing RMS procurement operations with MSP value of Rs. 81,747.81 Crore
“The ship was decommissioned in a solemn and low key event due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic when the national flag, naval ensign, and the decommissioning pennant were lowered at sunset time in the presence of Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, the Chief Guest for the ceremony,” the Indian Navy’s statement said.
