The Palace on Wheels was launched in 1982 as a joint initiative of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways. During the event, the Union Government will hand over approvals under PMGSY-IV for 973 rural roads covering a total length of 2,117 kilometres in Madhya Pradesh.
