The Palace on Wheels was launched in 1982 as a joint initiative of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways. India Launches PMGSY-IV as Rural Road Scheme Completes 25 Years; ₹18,907 Crore Allocated for FY27

During the event, the Union Government will hand over approvals under PMGSY-IV for 973 rural roads covering a total length of 2,117 kilometres in Madhya Pradesh. These projects are expected to benefit 987 habitations across the state. In addition, more than 384 kilometres of road projects under the PM-JANMAN initiative will also receive approval, directly benefiting 168 backward habitations.

According to reports, the woman, identified as Olina Ningshen, was allegedly abducted by militants associated with the Kuki National Army (B) faction and Village Volunteers Eastern Zone (VVEZ) from Namlee village near the Indo-Myanmar border. The abduction reportedly took place during a period of unrest and violence in the border villages of Kamjong district.

Named Achal, meaning “firm” or “steadfast”, the vessel has been designed to undertake a broad range of operational duties, including coastal and offshore surveillance, maritime interdiction, search and rescue missions, anti-smuggling operations, and marine pollution response. Officials said the ship will significantly enhance the operational readiness of the Indian Coast Guard across India’s maritime zones.
