Molten Iron’s Properties Determined by Its Cooling Period

In a recent study , researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) proposed an improved model for the cooling of molten spheroidal graphite iron that can optimise the cooling process in iron manufacturing industries for better quality cast iron. The study, published in Metallurgical and Materials transactions B, was partially funded by John Deere India Pvt. Ltd.

India Diversifies Its Crude Procurement; First Shipment from Guyana Arrives Next Month

Next month, India is set to receive its first shipment of one million barrels of Liza Crude Oil from Guyana. This is the first purchase of Guyanese crude oil from the Government of Guyana’s share of oil by an Indian PSU refiner – Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL). According to the Indian Mission in that country, the oil tanker left the shores on July 4-5, 2021 and will be reaching the Paradip Port in India in the first week of August.

India and Russia Agree to Have 2 Plus 2 Strategic Dialogue

The 2 plus 2 dialogue entails an annual meeting between the external affairs minister, Mr S. Jaishankar and the defence minister, Mr Rajnath Singh and their Russian counterparts, foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and defence minister Sergey Shoygu. India has agreed to the Russian offer, but where the first meeting will happen and when is yet to be decided. Much will depend on how acute the Covid situation is in the coming months.

₹ 92,849 Crore Gross GST Revenue Collected in June’ 2021

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of June’ 2021 is₹92,849 crore of which CGST is ₹16,424 crore, SGST is ₹20,397, IGST is ₹49,079 crore (including ₹25,762 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess is ₹6,949 crore (including ₹809 crore collected on import of goods).
