In August, UPI processed 3.55 billion transactions, which is a new milestone for the payment network since its inception. In terms of value, UPI transactions were Rs. 6.39 trillion (US$ 87.47 billion) in August, which is a new high. In August, UPI’s volume of transactions increased by 9.5% month over month (MoM), while the value of transactions increased by 5.4%.

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati have invented a biodegradable low-cost composite transparent wound dressing film. This material, based on the integration of a synthetic polymer, is non-toxic and will create a moist environment that would enable the body to heal on its own through the endogenous enzymes, according to recent research. Some of the findings have been published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules journal.
The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH has launched a national campaign to promote cultivation of medicinal plants in the country as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. This will help in increasing the income of farmers and realize the dream of Green India. Under this campaign, cultivation of medicinal plants will be done on 75,000 hectares of land in the next one year across the country. The program has been started from Saharanpur in UP and Pune in Maharashtra. This program is second in the series of programs being organized by the Ministry of Ayush under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
