Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 Extended Till April 5 After Strong Public Response

Being held at Sunder Nursery, the festival has grown into a major showcase of India’s tribal heritage, bringing together traditional crafts, handlooms, cuisine and grassroots enterprise from across the country. The extension comes after significant visitor turnout and sustained demand from stakeholders and participants, underlining the growing public interest in tribal products and cultural experiences.

Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 in New Delhi has been extended till April 5 after drawing a strong public response, with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED saying the decision is aimed at giving tribal artisans, entrepreneurs and self-help groups more time to access buyers, expand visibility and improve livelihood opportunities.

According to the organisers, the event has brought together more than 1,000 tribal artisans, Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, tribal chefs and cultural troupes representing diverse parts of India. Participation includes 78 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras from 22 states, more than 300 art and craft exhibitors from 28 states, and 120 tribal cuisine participants running 30 food stalls representing 21 states. The scale of participation has helped turn the festival into a broad national platform for both cultural display and direct market engagement.

Officials said the extension will allow artisans and producers to continue interacting directly with consumers, which is expected to support better price realisation and wider recognition for tribal products. For visitors, the additional days offer more time to explore the rich range of traditions, food, handicrafts and performances that the festival has brought to the capital.

Alongside exhibitions and sales, Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 has also been hosting a series of business and knowledge-oriented engagements, including the Bharat Tribes Business Conclave, CSR Conclave and thematic workshops. These sessions are intended to promote partnerships, capacity-building and stronger market linkages for tribal communities.

As part of the extended programme, TRIFED will organise a Van Dhan Conclave on March 29, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm at the venue. The conclave will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey and will feature five thematic sessions focused on sustainable livelihoods, value addition of Minor Forest Produce, market linkages and the strengthening of tribal entrepreneurship.

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs said the extension reflects its broader commitment to the welfare and economic empowerment of tribal communities through sustained support for livelihoods, preservation of traditional knowledge and stronger access to markets. With the festival now continuing until April 5, organisers are encouraging more visitors to attend and experience the diversity, enterprise and cultural depth of Tribal India.
