Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh on September 13 hosted a reception for Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma, where he affirmed the importance Vietnam attaches to relations with India, covering cooperation in national defence.
He highlighted the comprehensive and effective development of the bilateral defence ties over the past time.
The defence ministries of the two countries are working hard to prepare for the 12th Vietnam-India defence policy dialogue at the deputy ministerial level in Vietnam in December, Vinh said.
For his part, Pranay Verma said defence cooperation has become one of the major pillars of the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership.
He pledged to promote collaboration between the armies of the two countries during his tenure in Vietnam, for the sake of the two peoples, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world./.
