Indian Railways has embarked upon an ambition plan of electrification of its complete Broad Gauge network by 2023-24 which would not only result in a better fuel energy usage resulting in increased throughput, reduced fuel expenditure but also savings in precious foreign exchange.

 Trishul is SCR’s first long haul comprising of three freight trains, i.e., 177 wagons. This train was started on 07.10.2021 from Kondapalli station of Vijayawada division to Khurda division of East Coast Railway. SCR followed it up with running of yet another similar one named Garuda on 08.10.2021 from Raichur of Guntakal division to Manuguru of Secunderabad division. In both the cases the long haul trains comprised of empty open wagons for loading of coal meant for predominantly thermal power stations.

Kanpur Metro’s trains will have an energy efficiency of about 40-45% which means at the expenditure of every 1000 units, up to 450 units can be regenerated through breaking and be used again with the help of ‘Regenerative Breaking Technology’. No other Metro Project in India, that is running on the Third Rail DC Traction System has such type of arrangement to conserve energy.

Under direction of Union Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister Shri R K Singhthe Central Electricity Authority, Ministry of Power has prepared the guideline for the Cyber Security in Power Sector and it has been released on Thursday.

The new 2-km-long bridge, linking the island of Rameswaram in the Arabian Sea to the mainland, will replace the existing 104-year-old structure. The bridge will have a 63-metre stretch, which will lift up vertically to allow passage to small ships.
