Informing about the event, Bharat Bhushan Babu, spokesperson, Ministry of Defence said, “The 200-metre long bridge between Jonai-Pasighat-Ranaghat-Roing road will provide connectivity between Dibang Valley and Siang to meet the long-pending demand of the people of Arunachal Pradesh as it would cut down the travel time from Pasighat to Roing by about five hours.”
“The renewable energy capacity which has been installed is 83 GW and under installation is 31 GW and 35 GW capacity is underbidding. So this becomes around 140-145 GW. In hydro, we have installed capacity of around 45 GW and under installation capacity is about 13 GW, which makes it (hydro) around 60 GW. So we will cross 200 GW capacity of renewable energy by 2022,” the minister said. Singh said that more than 55 per cent of installed power generation in India will be from renewable sources by 2030.
IOCL had earlier submitted a proposal seeking Environmental Clearance for its proposed 100 KLPD Ligno-Cellulosic 2G Ethanol Plant in Baholi, Panipat district of Haryana. The estimated investment in setting up the plant is Rs 766 crore (US$ 109.60 million). It is noteworthy to mention that Central Government has identified production and use of ethanol as one the thrust area to reduce import dependency and increase farmers’ income. The Ethanol produced will be used for blending in transportation fuel.
The four parks will be set up in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, sources said, adding that Uttarakhand and Gujarat have also approached the Centre for a go-ahead for such parks.

HEMRL has created a state of the art facility for design, processing and evaluation of ignition systems. The facility consists of process, assembly & storage buildings and a design centre. Remotely controlled sophisticated equipments such as Sieve Shaker, Planetary Mixer, Granulating Machine, Pelleting Machine etc are installed in the process buildings.
Gujarat centre would be Dassault Systemes’ third such venture in the country after setting up CoEs in Hyderabad and Bangalore. The proposed CoE is expected to come up either at GTU’s existing campus in Chandkheda or their new university campus at Lekawada near Gandhinagar that is being built in a sprawling 200 acres area, sources said.
Nikita Mazein, vice-president of Rusatom Overseas (a division of Rosatom), said, “Rosatom is developing small and medium-sized solutions based on light water reactor unit of Russian design.” There is a need to explore the possibility of such projects in the coastal areas of South Asia as this nuclear energy segment provides an opportunity for boosting Indo-Russia nuclear cooperation, he said.
