Railways Unveil New Wagon Design Policy

Indian Railways have sought private participation in designing new freight wagons, according to a new wagon design policy issued by the government aimed at tapping outside expertise in an area that was a preserve of the Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO), the R&D wing of Indian Railways.

ri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, virtually laid the foundation stone for ten national highway projects totalling 336 kilometres and costing Rs 14,169 crores in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. With the completion of the Mathura-Hathras-Budaun-Barielly Highway, traffic congestion at pilgrimage and tourism sites will be alleviated.
