India and Estonia Explore New Opportunities in Trade, Technology, and Investment

India and Estonia should work together more closely in trade, investment, technology, and innovation, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said while addressing the India–Estonia Business Forum in Tallinn on Saturday during his official visit to Estonia.

The business forum brought together government officials, industry leaders, and business representatives from both countries to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation and create new opportunities for bilateral partnerships.

The event opened with remarks from Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, followed by Goyal’s keynote address. Speaking at the forum, the minister highlighted India’s rapid economic progress over the last two decades, noting that the country has become one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. He emphasized that reforms, a strong manufacturing base, and a thriving innovation ecosystem have made India an attractive destination for global investors.

Inviting Estonian businesses to expand their presence in India, Goyal said the country offers promising investment opportunities across multiple sectors and remains committed to fostering a business-friendly environment for international companies.

During the forum, Estonian officials showcased the country’s digitally advanced governance system and innovation-driven economy, while Indian industry representatives outlined the growing potential for investment and commercial collaboration in India.

Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade, encouraging cross-border investments, supporting innovation-led partnerships, and exploring cooperation in emerging sectors such as digital technologies, startups, and advanced manufacturing.

Business leaders from both nations also participated in networking sessions aimed at building new commercial relationships and identifying areas for future collaboration. The day’s engagements concluded with a reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Estonia, providing an additional platform for strengthening business-to-business engagement and expanding broader economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
