Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh is set to emerge as a major defence manufacturing hub with the foundation stone laid for a new defence manufacturing plant in Pali village along National Highway 27.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for the project, which will be developed by the Adani Group with an investment of around ₹2,500 crore.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Scindia described the project as a historic step for Shivpuri. He said the plant would connect the district with industrial growth, defence production and the vision of a self-reliant India. He added that weapons and missiles manufactured by the youth of Shivpuri would contribute to strengthening the Indian Army.
The upcoming facility will produce ammunition, high-tech weapons and mission-ready missiles. Its location along National Highway 27 is expected to support logistics, industrial movement and future defence-sector growth in the region.
The project is also expected to generate large-scale employment and create new opportunities for local youth, skilled workers and supporting industries. Speaking at the event, Adani Group Director Jeet Adani said the group aims to create 1.20 lakh jobs in Madhya Pradesh by 2030.
The Shivpuri defence manufacturing plant marks an important milestone for Madhya Pradesh’s industrial development. By combining private investment, defence production and local employment, the project is expected to strengthen India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem while giving Shivpuri a prominent place in the country’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat journey.
