New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Railways have fruitfully utilised the enforced lockdown by successfully executing long-pending maintenance works like yard remodelling, renewal of scissors crossover, repair of bridges that have often confronted Indian Railways as bottlenecks.
Backend warriors of the Railways have successfully executed these maintenance works in different zones across the country that had been pending for several years.
Around 500 modern heavy duty Track Maintenance Machines along with track, signal & Overhead Equipment (OHE) maintainers have worked regularly for 10,749 machine days to complete overdue track maintenance of 12,270 km plain track and 5,263 of Turn outs, an official release here said.
