LUCKNOW: The city will get another green oasis in midst of concrete structures.
Lucknow Development Authority will build a grand park on 160-acre land in Vasant Kunj near SGPGI.
Christened as City Forest, the green structure will cost Rs 50 crore. The construction will begin this month and the park is expected to be ready in next two years. It will be the second largest park in Lucknow after Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomtinagar.
The park will have three gardens — butterfly, herbal and bamboo, besides an orchard. It will boast of facilities like food court, jogging track, open-air gym and multi-activity spot. The orchard will have trees of orange, guava, litchi, mango and cashew.
Garden in charge, LDA, SP Sisodiya said they are also mulling construction of a library in the park where books on plants and tree will be available for visitors. In addition, the park will have an airconditioned auditorium for cultural and social programmes. Its seating capacity would be 2,000.
