Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru and French company, Safran Helicopter Engines, had entered into a joint venture – Helicopter Engine MRO Private Limited – to set up this helicopter maintenance plant in Goa.
MeitY has also proposed allowing new entrepreneurs to set up manufacturing facilities without having to give personal collateral under the credit guarantee scheme. “Our industry’s problem is higher interest finance cost and providing collateral to banks, which is what we have tried to address in the proposal in order to nurture the hardware ecosystem,” the report added.
Almost all electric vehicles (EVs) in India run on imported batteries, mostly from China. At present, a lithium-ion battery accounts for 40% of the total cost of an EV. Lithium also has other uses such as in mobile phone batteries and solar panels.
After assessing strategic installations in the city for the last one year, the Ministry of Defence has rejected the proposal for LiDAR mapping by the State government in 40% of the area, owing to the existence of sensitive installations. However, the State government has been permitted to get assistance from the Survey of India for the mapping of over 5,000 sq. km of the city and its suburbs.

The underwater tunnel is being constructed at an expense of Rs 60 crore while the total cost of the East-West Metro project is evaluated to be around Rs 9,000 crore. The tunnelling work began in April last year and likely to be finished in the river section shortly, said by senior Railway Minster.

New Delhi is working on a host of other connectivity initiatives. It is involved in the Kaladan transport project, which links the remote Northeast with other parts of the country via Myanmar and the Bay of Bengal.
