India has China On Its Toes As Modi Govt Engages Taiwan To Solve Chip Shortage

Officials in New Delhi and Taipei have met in recent weeks to discuss a deal that would bring a chip plant worth an estimated $7.5 billion to India to supply everything from 5G devices to electric cars, the people said. India is currently studying possible locations with adequate land, water and manpower, while saying it would provide financial support of 50% of capital expenditure from 2023 as well as tax breaks and other incentives, the people said.

DBT Institute to Help Vietnamese Company Develop COVID Vaccine

The Ambassador of Vietnam to India, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, who led the Vietnamese team that visited THSTI on September 23, to sign the MoU, thanked THSTI, DBT, and the Ministry of External Affairs for extending their support to evaluate a vaccine candidate, named NanoCovax developed by Nanogen. He expressed confidence that the MoU will pave way for more such opportunities between India and Vietnam and contribute to vaccine research in both countries.

PM Modi to Launch Nationwide Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

Based on the foundations laid down in the form of Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile (JAM) trinity and other digital initiatives of the government, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will create a seamless online platform through the provision of a wide-range of data, information and infrastructure services, duly leveraging open, interoperable, standards-based digital systems while ensuring the security, confidentiality and privacy of health-related personal information,” the government said in a statement. The Mission will enable access and exchange of longitudinal health records of citizens with their consent, it said.
