Schools Built with India’s Assistance Inaugurated
Under the India grant assistance, two new schools were inaugurated in the Sarlahi district of Nepal on Thursday. The two schools were Shree Bal Govind Janta Higher Secondary School at Pipariya, Kabilasi-2 and Shree Janta Secondary School at Netragunj, Lalbandi-1, as per the Indian embassy.

The schemes aim at increasing productivity by providing improved looms & accessories to the handloom weavers at 90% subsidized rates, skill upgradation through training programmes, design innovation & product diversification by engaging designers, production of varieties of handloom products, including traditional & contemporary for domestic as well as overseas markets. Under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS), the electronic Point of Sale (ePoS) devices at the Fair Price Shops (FPSs) are operated by the FPS dealers. Further, to ensure regular delivery of subsidised foodgrains to the differently abled and old-age National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries, with no other adult member in the household and who are not in position to visit the FPSs, all States/UTs are advised to implement mechanisms for special dispensation of foodgrains to such beneficiaries, either through home-delivery or through their nominated persons.

Cabinet Approves Ken-Betwa Interlinking of Rivers Project
The total cost of Ken-Betwa link project has been assessed at Rs.44,605 crore at 2020-21 price levels. The Union Cabinet has approved central support of Rs.39,317 crore for the project, covering grant of Rs.36,290 crore and loan of Rs.3,027 crore.
Ministry of Civil Aviation mandates Air Suvidha Portal for Ease of Travelling
To certify the needed prevention of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus, the Exemption from Air Suvidha has been dropped, and mandatory filings for all passengers have been implemented. All international passengers arriving in India are instructed to announce their current health status before boarding on the Air Suvidha Portal along with the required documents: Copy of Passport, PCR Negative Certificate from a Test conducted within 72 hours of departure, and the Vaccination Certificate. For Immigration, the APHO counter has to verify the copy on the email.
