“As Japan battles the devastation and damage from Typhoon Hagibis. Indian Navy ships INS Sahyadri and INS Kiltan mission deployed in the area are ready to render assistance as requested,” the Navy tweeted, tagging the Prime Minister’s Office, the Indian embassy in Japan, and the Defence Ministry.

“The proposal for the acquisition of 21 MiG-29s would be placed before the Defence Acquisition Council soon. The IAF wants the MiG-29s to be of the upgraded MiG-29s that are already in service,” defence sources told ANI.
“The IAF also wants that the aircraft should be equipped with the Indian weapon systems including the Astra missiles,” they said.

In the wake of weapons drop by drones in Punjab last month, the Union Home Ministry has asked the Border Security Force (BSF) to adopt anti-drone mechanism aimed at preventing such activities on western border which is guarded by the paramilitary force. The direction came after Union Home Minister Amit Shah on October 4 chaired a high-level meeting with the Director Generals of all paramilitary forces to review the current status of border security and measures to be taken to strengthen it further.

harma Guardian, the joint military exercise between India and Japan, will be held at the Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School Vairengte in Mizoram from October 19 to November 2. The scope of the exercise covers platoon-level joint training on counter-terrorism operations in the jungle and urban scenario.

“Seven Rafale jets will arrive in India by April or May. The aircraft is capable of reaching up to the speed of 1800 kmph. I flew in a Rafale jet at the speed of 1300 kmph. The two-day CORPAT will be followed by the maiden edition of bilateral exercise at Visakhapatnam from October 12 to 16.
A Defence Ministry release on Friday said that INS Ranvijay, a guided-missile destroyer and INS Kuthar, an ingeniously built missile corvette are participating in CORPAT along with Bangladesh frigate BNS Ali Haider and guided-missile corvette BNS Shadinota.
