As part of enhancing military cooperation with the friendly nations, Indian Naval Ship Shardul, a ship of the First Training Squadron of the Indian Navy, visited Port Louis in Mauritius, the force said. The ship arrived at Port Louis in Mauritius on March 10 and remained there till March 13. Indian Navy said that the visit is part of an overseas deployment to Southern Indian Ocean nations.

The Indian Air Force will induct the second squadron of Rafale fighter aircraft at Hashimara Air Force base in West Bengal in mid-April, said officials. The Air Force would be moving fighter aircraft there in May. The training of the fighter pilots in France completing around the same time.

Multi-billion deals for 30 armed drones from the U.S. and six advanced submarines under Project-75I are likely to be taken by the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) in April for approval, a government official said. “All the procedures have been completed and the deals are likely to be taken up at the next meeting of the DAC for approval,” the official said. “There is no DAC in March, the next one is scheduled in April.”

The Indian Navy has signed a contract with Suryadipta Projects to construct 11 ammunition-cum-torpedo-cum-missile (ACTCM) barges, said an official statement on Tuesday. The contract withSuryadipta ProjectsPrivate Limited, a Thane-based MSME, was concludedon March 5, the Indian Navy’s statement noted.

The important defence equipment exported during last 05 years include Weapon Simulators, Tear Gas Launcher, Torpedo Loading Mechanism, Alarm Monitoring & Control, Night Vision Monocular & Binocular, Light Weight Torpedo & Fire Control Systems, Armoured Protection Vehicle, Weapons Locating Radar, HF Radio, Coastal Surveillance Radar etc.

The government-to-government deal between India and the US for MH-60R helos was finalised during the visit of former US president Donald Trump to India in 2020. Under this deal, the Indian Navy will get 24 of these helicopters.
