Indian Navy to Get Large Survey Vessel

The new ships are going to have new generation hydrographic equipment which includes advanced indigenous data acquisition systems which will collect and analyze geophysical and oceanographic data in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Also the new large survey vessel will have 11m survey boats, ROVs and AUVs.

Geographical Information System (GIS) Plans for Around 75% Gram Panchayats Completed

The Ministry of Rural Development has reached an important milestone with the completion of Geographical Information System (GIS) plans for 2 lakh Gram Panchayats (GPs) out of 2.69 lakh GPs under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA using remote sensing technology based on the ridge to valley approach. GIS-based planning under Mahatma Gandhi NREGS is an initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development which helps the Gram Panchayat to ensure a scientific & holistic approach for planning at the Gram Panchayat level. It is an important tool to ensure participatory planning at the implementation level.

NPCI Arm, Network Int Join Hands for UPI Payment System in UAE

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Thursday said its international arm NIPL and global digital commerce enabler Network International have signed an agreement for mobile-based real time payment system in the UAE. Indian Researchers Develop Better Therapeutics to Treat Autism Spectrum Disorder

A group of Indian researchers have developed a compound called “6BIO” that can provide a better method to treat Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They have determined the potency of the compound in a pre-clinical mice model. This is the first compound that has been proved in pre-clinical evaluation to have the potential for improving daily activities like learning and recollecting new tasks in patients with ASD/ Intellectual disability (ID).

            Contingencies such as terrorist intrusion, bomb explosion, major fire, oil spill, man overboard, casualty evacuation, loss of control of vessel and mass evacuation were exercised. The exercise provided all stake holders a realistic scenario to assess their readiness to respond to and combat contingencies in the Western ODA, as also to operate together in a coordinated manner.
