Study Gains New Insights Into Alzheimer’s

Efforts to unravel the mystery around the highly debilitating disease of Alzheimer’s have got a shot in the arm with a recent study getting newer insight into the biomolecular mechanism for the formation of protein clusters/aggregates that are often seen in the disease.

Maldivian Defence Min Reaches Kochi, India

The defence minister of Maldives Mariya Ahmed Didi arrived in Kochi on a 6-day official visit to Kochi and Kannur. The defence minister, who reached the Cochin International Airport Limited (Cial) in an IndiGo flight around 11:30 am on Tuesday, was received by Rear Admiral TVN Prasanna, chief staff officer (training), Southern Naval Command (SNC) and his wife. The visit is part of improving the bilateral defence ties between Maldives and India.

SJVN Begins the Work of Second Unit of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Plant in Bihar

The Foundation Stone of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Plant was laid by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 9th March 2019. Shri Sharma  informed that the progress of the Project is being continuously monitored by Hon’ble Union Minister for Power & NRE, Sh. R. K Singh. He exhorted all stakeholders to enthusiastically strive hard to commission the Project prior to the scheduled timeframe. 

Defence Acquisition Council Headed by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Approves Proposal of Value INR. 2,236 Cr.

Force for its modernization and operational needs amounting to Rs. 2,236 Cr. under the category of ‘Make in India’. The procurement proposal of Air Force was for GSAT-7C Satellite and Ground Hubs for real-time connectivity of Software Defined Radios (SDRs). The project envisages complete design, development and launching of satellite in India.

37th Edition of India – Indonesia Coordinated Patrol

 Indian Naval Ship (INS) Khanjar, an indigenously built Missile Corvette along with Dornier Maritime Patrol Aircraft is undertaking coordinated patrol (CORPAT) with Indonesian Naval Ship KRI Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin, (376), a Kapitan Patimura-Class Corvette, from 23 to 24 Nov 21. The 37th edition of CORPAT between India and Indonesia will also witness participation of Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both Nations. The exercise, is being conducted as a ‘non-contact, “at sea only” exercise in view of COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the mutual trust, synergy and cooperation between the two friendly Navies. 

Proposals for Construction of 3.61 Lakh Houses Approved Under PMAY(U)

The 56th meeting of Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) was held in New Delhi on 23rd November 2021 under the chairmanship of Shri Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). A total of 3.61 lakh houses were approved for construction from 17 States/UTs under Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC), In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) verticals of PMAY-U.

India – United States to Take Wconomic Relationship to the Next High Level

India and the United States held the 12th Ministerial-level meeting of the India-United States Trade Policy Forum (TPF) in New Delhi on November 23, 2021 with a view to advancing the goal, to “develop an ambitious, shared vision for the future of the trade relationship”, as announced by PM Mr. Modi and President Mr. Biden at their September 24, 2021 meeting.
