BAT Action by Pakistan Army Foiled, Pakistani Terrorist Killed on LoC – Indian Army

An attempt by the Pakistani military’s Border Action Team (BAT) to push a terrorist into India was foiled after he was gunned down in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district around 3pm on January 1, the Army said on Sunday. Slain terrorist Mohammed Shabbir Malik was carrying an AK-47, seven grenades, ammunition, ration suited for a long haul in cold weather, certificates and a photo that showed him in army uniform with the name tab.

315 Water Supply Schemes to Benefit 7.97 Lakh Households in 4,424 Villages of Jharkhand

Only 3.45 lakh (5.83 percent) of rural families in Jharkhand had access to tap water on August 15, 2019, when the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched. Despite the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown disruptions, the State has connected 6.73 lakh (11.38 percent) homes to tap water in just 28 months. As of now, 10.18 lakh (17.20 percent) of the 59.23 lakh rural households in the state have access to running water.

PM Releases 10th Instalment of PM-KISAN

line with the continued commitment and resolve to empower grassroot level farmers, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released 10th instalment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Saturday via video conferencing. This enabled the transfer of an amount of more than Rs. 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

“Force levels in areas where disengagement has yet to take place have been adequately enhanced. Threat assessment and internal deliberations have resulted in reorganisation and realignment of forces in keeping with the Army’s mandate of ensuring territorial integrity and to cater for the major augmentation of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) forces and military infrastructure,” the ministry said in its year-end review.

Navy to Test Rafale-M Jet for INS Vikrant

According to officials in knowledge of the matter, the Rafale-M fighter will be pushed through intensive trial at the 283 metre mock-up ski jump facility at INS Hansa for nearly 12 days to assess whether the fighter aircraft is best suited for IAC-1. The Rafale M fighter is the principal weapon system for French Charles De Gaulle aircraft carrier and has also shown its inter-operability with US aircraft carriers way back in 2008.

These tugs have been designed and built under the classification rules of Indian Register for Shipping (IRS) with a service life of 20 years and are capable of assisting large naval ships, including Aircraft Carrier and Submarines in berthing, un-berthing, turning and manoeuvering in confined waters and in harbour. They also provide afloat firefighting cover/assistance to ships alongside/anchorage and have limited capability for Search and Rescue operations.

India’s Wheat Exports Touched $ 243 Million in 2020 Against $ 50 Million in 2016

In the first seven months (April-October) of the current financial year (2021-22), India’s wheat exports in terms of volume rose by more than 527 per cent to 3.2 Million Tonne (MT) from 0.51 MT reported during April-October period of 2020-21. In terms of value, India’s wheat exports in the current fiscal (April – October) rose by 546 per cent to $ 872 million from $ 135 million reported during the same period of the previous fiscal.
