National Institute of Naturopathy Opens Admissions for BNYS Programme at Pune for 2026–27

The programme will offer 100 seats and combines academic study, clinical training, yoga education and naturopathy practice within a residential campus environment.

The National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), under the Ministry of Ayush, has invited applications for admission to its Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) programme for the 2026–27 academic session at the Nisarg Gram campus in Yewalewadi, Pune.

The programme will offer 100 seats and combines academic study, clinical training, yoga education and naturopathy practice within a residential campus environment.

Five-and-a-Half-Year Residential Programme

The BNYS course is a 5½-year full-time residential programme comprising 4½ years of academic and clinical training followed by one year of Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship.

The curriculum is designed to provide students with structured education in naturopathy and yogic sciences while also exposing them to clinical practice and patient care.

NIN is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayush and is affiliated with Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi, for the programme.

According to the Ministry of Ayush, NIN is the first Central Government institution in India to offer a BNYS degree in affiliation with a Central University.

Eligibility for Admission

Candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised board are eligible to apply, subject to the prescribed medical fitness and other admission requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates who appeared for NEET-UG 2026. If seats remain vacant, they will be filled on the basis of Class 12 PCB merit in accordance with the applicable admission procedure and reservation norms.

Nisarg Gram Campus Offers Integrated Training

The Nisarg Gram campus is spread across 25 acres and includes a 250-bedded naturopathy hospital, academic and research facilities, separate hostels for male and female students, dedicated yoga halls and modern naturopathy treatment infrastructure.

This integrated setup is intended to give students exposure not only to classroom learning but also to clinical practice, research and wellness-based healthcare.

The institute also carries forward the historical association of naturopathy with Mahatma Gandhi and promotes the discipline through education, healthcare, training and research.

Application Deadline Is October 19

The online application process began on September 29, 2026 and will remain open until 5:00 PM on October 19, 2026.

The provisional merit list is scheduled for October 27, followed by the final merit and waiting list on October 30.

Counselling is scheduled to take place on November 12–13 and November 18–19, while classes are expected to begin on November 30, 2026.

Strengthening Formal Education in Naturopathy and Yoga

The BNYS programme at NIN represents a further step in expanding structured higher education in naturopathy and yoga under the Ministry of Ayush.

With a Central Government institution, university affiliation, clinical infrastructure and residential training brought together on one campus, the programme aims to strengthen academic standards and professional training in these systems of healthcare.

As demand grows for integrated and preventive approaches to health, institutions such as NIN are likely to play an increasingly important role in developing qualified practitioners, expanding research and strengthening India’s formal education ecosystem in naturopathy and yogic sciences.
