Indian Experts to Participate in Moscow Startup Summit as Global Technology Leaders Gather in Russian Capital

Indian experts will participate in the Moscow Startup Summit on September 29 and 30, 2026, joining specialists from Russia and 12 other countries for discussions on artificial intelligence, startup investment, technology commercialisation and innovation across multiple industries.

More than 150 experts are expected to take part in the business programme, with international participation from countries including India, China, Brazil, Malaysia and the Philippines. The summit will also bring together startups, investors, corporate innovators and technology institutions through accelerator demo days, competitions and direct business meetings.

Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, said the summit will examine how technology is influencing industries ranging from creative sectors to agriculture.

The event provides an opportunity for participants to exchange experience on technology adoption, investment and commercialisation while building connections with international innovation ecosystems.

Speed Meetings to Connect Startups With Investors

For the first time, the Moscow Startup Summit will organise speed meetings where startup founders can present their projects directly to investors and potential clients.

The format is intended to encourage practical business engagement rather than limiting the summit to conference discussions. Participating startups will be able to showcase market-ready solutions, discuss commercial partnerships and explore investment opportunities within a concentrated meeting format.

Alexey Katkov, Senior Vice President for Strategic Investments at Sberbank, said the summit’s emphasis is on creating mechanisms that can generate deals between startups, investors and corporate innovators.

Sber500 and Tech Lab Moscow Take Centre Stage

September 29 will feature the demo day of the Sber500 international accelerator along with the finale of Tech Lab Moscow, a programme focused on bringing AI-intensive products to market.

The day will also host the Innovator of Moscow award ceremony, while September 30 will feature presentations from school and university technology startups along with participants in the Know Our Own Brand Competition.

The competition is organised by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Roscongress Foundation and VEB.RF, adding another institutional layer to the summit’s technology and entrepreneurship programme.

Artificial Intelligence Dominates Startup Applications

Artificial intelligence has emerged as one of the strongest themes surrounding the summit and the associated Technology Award.

According to Sberbank, the Best AI Solution category attracted almost 70% of all applications submitted by startups. The response reflects the growing role of AI as a core technology platform for young companies developing products for business, industry and public services.

The emphasis is increasingly shifting towards AI applications that can move beyond experimentation and solve practical problems across the economy.

Technology Award Receives Around 2,000 Applications

The Technology Award established by the Government of Moscow and Sber received around 2,000 applications from 76 regions of Russia in 2026, representing an increase of about 15% compared with 2025.

The competition includes 17 categories covering startups, investors, corporate organisations, regional development institutions and media projects related to technology entrepreneurship and innovation adoption.

The Best Innovation for the City category alone received 130 proposals covering solutions ranging from digital urban services to cleaning robots.

Startups to Present Market-Ready Solutions

The summit is placing considerable emphasis on technologies that can be deployed quickly across industry and business.

During demo days and investor meetings, participating companies will present solutions designed for practical implementation in sectors that are undergoing digital and technological transformation.
