According to Cirium’s June 2026 On-Time Performance report, Air India achieved an on-time arrival rate of 86.85 per cent across 15,135 flights during the month. The airline also recorded an 86.23 per cent on-time departure rate and a 99.7 per cent completion factor, indicating that nearly all scheduled flights were operated.

The airline attributed the improvement to initiatives aimed at strengthening operational resilience, including better departure management, streamlined aircraft turnaround, enhanced real-time network monitoring and faster operational decision-making.

Operating a hub-and-spoke network through Delhi and Mumbai, India’s busiest airports, Air India said it continues to manage challenges such as airport congestion and air traffic control restrictions, which can affect schedules across its network. It has also expanded contingency planning and cross-functional coordination to minimise disruptions caused by adverse weather, airspace restrictions, technical issues and congestion.

The performance comes as Air India advances its broader transformation programme, which includes fleet modernisation, improved customer experience, digital initiatives and expanded international connectivity.

As part of its fleet renewal plan, the airline has ordered 600 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and is upgrading its existing fleet. Over the past six months, Air India has inducted three new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with additional Boeing 787-9s and Airbus A350-1000 aircraft expected to join the fleet later this year.
