To boost export of AYUSH products, the ministry is also providing incentives to AYUSH drug manufacturers for registration of AYUSH products with US Food and Drug Administration, European drug regulator EMEA, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency-UK, Natural Health Products Directorate of Canada and Therapeutic Goods Administration of Australia and other international regulatory agencies abroad for the purpose of export, Rijiju said

The notification dated November 19 listed the procedures that will be included in the PG training of Ayurveda doctors by amending the Indian Medicine Central Council (Post Graduate Ayurveda Education) Regulations, 2016. It stated that the amendments were being made with the sanction of the central government.

The Prime Minister will dedicate two future-ready Ayurveda institutions to the nation at the 5th Ayurveda Day on 13th November, 2020. These are the Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar and the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur.

The LoI was signed on 27 October between the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the apex body in India for undertaking, coordinating, formulating, developing and promoting research in ayurveda under the Ministry of AYUSH, and the Office of Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine (OCCAM), an agency under the US government’s National Institutes of Health (NIH).

In view of the need for accelerated solutions for Covid-19, the Ministry of AYUSH has taken up systematic studies on different possible solutions through multiple channels. As part of this effort, a proposal for a clinical study to assess the role of Vasa Ghana, Guduchi Ghana and Vasa-Guduchi Ghana in therapeutic management of symptoms in Covid-19 positive cases have recently been approved.

Ayurveda considers that proper food selection and dietary schedule help to maintain holistic health with a calm mind. Bhagwad Gita and Yoga Shastras divided food into three types based on their qualities (termed as gunas). They are Sathva (satoguna), Rajasa (rajoguna), and Thamasa (tamoguna). Sathva means goodness, whereas Rajasa means aggressive/active, and ordered from “best” to “worst”.
