The Department of Commerce is implementing the initiative through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, treating each district as a unit of export planning rather than merely as a centre of production. According to a government factsheet released on September 2, 2026, the programme had expanded to more than 770 districts by January 2026, significantly broadening India’s district-level export architecture.

The upgrade applies to both India’s long-term foreign currency and local currency issuer ratings and marks an important improvement in the country’s sovereign credit profile. According to the assessment, India’s ability to sustain strong economic growth despite an uncertain global environment, together with improvements in fiscal management and the financial system, has strengthened its overall creditworthiness.

The new brand is being positioned around real dairy cream, affordable pricing and mass-market distribution. Bombay Creamery products start at ₹10 and will initially be available across western India before Reliance expands the brand nationwide. The portfolio includes cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks, giving the company products across the principal formats sold in India’s organised ice-cream market.

BEML disclosed the fresh contract to the stock exchanges on September 2, 2026, stating that the order had been received in the normal course of business. The company has not disclosed the number of trainsets covered by the additional order or their delivery schedule.
