Incubated at IIT Kanpur, Offgrid has developed a proprietary zinc-bromide battery platform called ZincGel®. The technology is designed to store electricity for roughly six to sixteen hours without using lithium, cobalt, nickel or rare-earth materials.
The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Pune on September 4, 2026, bringing together Drogo Aerospace’s unmanned-aircraft engineering capabilities and MIL’s experience in ammunition, explosives and warhead technology. The agreement was signed by Yashwanth Bonthu, Founder and CEO of Drogo Aerospace, and Kumar Vaibhav Gaur, Executive Director of Munitions India.
ATR says the agreement is its largest firm order in almost a decade and the largest order ever placed with the manufacturer by a regional airline. The deal also takes ATR’s 2026 order intake to 54 aircraft, already exceeding its total net orders for the whole of 2025.
The company says it works across research and development, electronic-system design and manufacturing, and composite structures, with activities spanning RF and microwave equipment, electronic-warfare products, airborne electronics, embedded systems, power electronics and aerospace composite structures.
The new system came into effect on September 1, 2026, following a decision by the Bureau of Immigration, which operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed the change and described it as another step towards making international air travel from India more seamless and digital.

Stealth aircraft use carefully aligned surfaces, internal weapon carriage, shielded engine faces and controlled edge geometry to reduce the amount of radar energy reflected back towards hostile sensors.
