All LHB Trains in India to Become More Silent and Eco-Friendly with HOG System

Till date, 342 trains have already been converted into HOG, which has helped the national transporter save Rs 800 crore approx per year. Now, 284 more trains are to be converted by the year end. According to the railway ministry official, the existent power generator cars make huge noise and emit fumes. However, the two generator cars will soon be replaced with one standby silent generator car for emergency situations.

An antenna of 32-metre diameter, jointly developed by Bhabha Atomic Reserch Centre (Barc) and the Electronics Corporation of India (Ecil), which is part of the Indian Deep Space Network at Byalalu near Bengalaru, is playing a role to establish this much-awaited link, along with Nasa’s Deep Space Networks at Goldstone in California, Madrid in Spain and Canberra in Australia.
