Once the construction of the railway line, between Agartala in Tripura and Akhaura in Bangladesh, is completed, the first train would run from the Northeast region to Bangladesh on the eve of India’s 75th year of Independence in the year 2022.

Proposed production capacity for the ethanol plant is 100,000 litres per day; the project is of considerable national significance, since the Indian Government is encouraging the production of cellulosic ethanol from agricultural resources to provide additional sources of income for farmers.
