₹ 1,200Cr Honeywell Plant to Make Defence Fabric in Butibori

US-based multinational Honeywell has decided to set up a Rs 1,200 crore textile plant in Butibori MIDC. It plans to produce Spectra — a specialized fibre used for defence, semi-defence and paramilitary purposes. Anbalagan further said Honeywell had already identified a 50 acre plot in Butibori. “We will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with them soon and hand over the plot after payment is made,” he added.

Two Strategically Important Bridges Near IB Inaugurated

The bridges, near the International Border, have been built under Project Sampark, braving Pakistani shelling and weather vagaries during the monsoon season, officials said. The 1,000-metre Ujh bridge in Kathua is the longest constructed by the Border Roads Organisation and it uses the precast segment technology, a defence spokesman said.The 617-metre Basantar bridge in Samba has been built at a cost of Rs 41.7 crore on Rajpura–Madwal–Pangadur–Phulpur road over Basantar river.

Centre Nod for Largest Hydro-Power Project

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved Rs1,600 crore for pre-investment activities and clearances for the Dibang multipurpose project in Arunachal Pradesh, which is estimated to cost Rs 28,080.35 crore to build, and once completed, will generate 2880MW power.
