The Foreign Secy will talk about the expansion of the counterterror partnership and the exploration of joint projects in Afghanistan.

“India is a precious friend. What friends do is that they help each other to defend each other. As far as India needs our help, assistance, sharing of technology, know how to defend, we are here, that is our values, that is what friends do. Whatever India needs from Israel, will share our experiences, our technology, in order to defend themselves.” Said a top Israeli Government official

Under the agreement, India and the US will continue to offer capacity building assistance to partner countries in multiple sectors, focusing primarily on agriculture, regional connectivity, trade and investments, nutrition, health, clean and renewable energy, women empowerment, disaster preparedness, water, sanitation, education, and institution building, the agency said.

While addressing a conference ‘Multipolarism in Asia: Issues and Challenges’, Vikram Doraiswami, joint secretary, MEA stated that this is aimed to strengthen inland waterway routes between the two countries, Bangladesh and India.

Noting that initiatives like ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ and ‘Start-up India’ provide new business prospects, he said India and Croatia are keen to deepen their relations, particularly on the economic side.

Anti-terror cooperation, movement of illegal immigrants, and smuggling of cattle, arms and ammunition and a few other issues are expected to be discussed during the talks which will also be attended by top internal security officials of India and Bangladesh, a Home Ministry official said.

India and Indonesia are stressing the importance of existing counter-terror mechanisms and strengthening intelligence cooperation systems amid rising violence and spread of radical ideologies, a senior Indonesian government official told ET.
