Rivlin’s remarks came during a ceremony at the President’s House where India’s Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, submitted his credentials to the Israeli President.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said India remained engaged with various stakeholders in the US, including the Trump administration, the Congress, civil society and others in addressing their questions on the issue.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest including bilateral counter-terrorism cooperation, capacity building and training for Uzbek security personnel in Indian institutions, border guarding and disaster management. Emphasizing on India-Uzbekistan Strategic Partnership, the Ministers welcomed increased cooperation between India and Uzbekistan in the area of security cooperation.

Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Abe have met already twice this year: first in Osaka on the sidelines of the G20 summit and then again in Vladivostok, Russia on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.

While this diplomatic maneuvering may sound logical, it is a marked shift away from the Nehruvian ideals that have shackled India’s foreign policy and limited its effectiveness in serving national interests for several decades.

It is learnt that the two leaders reviewed the entire gamut of India-Bhutan relations, including the security situation in strategic areas.

“The government of India, with effect from November 16, 2019, has decided to extend the Visa-on-Arrival facility to nationals of the United Arab Emirates. This facility is aimed at further strengthening people to people and trade links as well as strategic ties between the two countries,” the embassy said in a statement.

If the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is rapidly catching up with the US in advanced technologies, substantial credit goes to Taiwan. Since 1989, thousands of technology companies from that dynamic island have moved operations across the Taiwan Straits, generating within the PRC hundreds of billions of dollars in turnover and millions in jobs.

“If there is one country which by its military strength and it’s size and economic potential.. one country that has a claim on the United Nations Security Council, that is India,” Abbot said, while speaking at the sidelines of an event in Delhi.
