Saudi Arabia is the fourth-largest trading partner of India. Bilateral trade stood at $34 billion, which includes $10 billion for non-oil trade. Although trade is growing at a healthy rate of 24 per cent annually, there is potential to double the non-oil component to $20 billion in the next few years.

The decision also cements India’s growing stature as a country that is rock solid in its resolve to not only protect its own interests, but also to boldly ward off any attempts to being arm-twisted. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, New India reflects a new self-confidence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Brazil on Wednesday on a two-day visit to participate in the 11th Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa (BRICS) summit. This will be Modi’s sixth BRICS summit since he assumed office for the first time in May 2014. Brazil is the current chair of the grouping which taken together represents over 3.6 billion people, or half of the world population with a combined nominal GDP of $16.6 trillion.

Ten diplomats from Afghanistan are participating in the course. As with the training of the first batch of Afghan diplomats last year, the current batch will spend time at the elite Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in New Delhi during November 11-23 and undertake study tours in India before travelling to China for further training.

The two ministers discussed ways to further enhance the bilateral cooperation.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given ex-post facto approval to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Paraguay for Strengthening Cooperation in the field of Tourism. The MoU was signed in New Delhi on 27th September 2019.

Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs T S Tirumurti told reporters that the leaders at the summit will deliberate on boosting overall cooperation among the member nations.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod to a raft of agreements to be signed with various countries, including the one on avoiding double taxation with Brazil and training judicial officers from Maldives.

“EAM S Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Serbia from November 7 to 9 on the invitation of Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia,” said Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in a press release on Wednesday.
