According to information provided by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in Parliament, 5,63,809 of India’s 5,86,944 villages had been covered by Liquid Waste Management arrangements as of August 7, 2026. The figures are based on information uploaded by States and Union Territories to the SBM(G) Integrated Management Information System.
The initiative addresses a problem that has become increasingly familiar to mobile users in India: legitimate calls relating to deliveries, electricity or other utilities can arrive from ordinary mobile numbers that are difficult to distinguish from spam, fraudulent calls or aggressive telemarketing. A dedicated numbering range gives consumers an additional means of recognising that an incoming call originates from an entity operating within the regulated communication framework.
The Green India Mission differs from conventional plantation programmes in that it seeks to work at the landscape level rather than viewing afforestation as an isolated activity. Of the approximately 1.25 crore houses sanctioned under PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0, around 1 crore houses have been allotted either in the name of the female head of the household or under joint ownership involving women.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said that 33 of India’s 37 State and Union Territory legislatures had signed memoranda of understanding for implementing the platform by July 2026. The two Houses of Parliament are outside the scope of the NeVA programme, which is focused on State and Union Territory legislatures.

The government has also approved 13 Responsible AI projects under the IndiaAI Mission, including projects focused on detecting manipulated audio and visual content.
