315 Water Supply Schemes to Benefit 7.97 Lakh Households in 4,424 Villages of Jharkhand

Only 3.45 lakh (5.83 percent) of rural families in Jharkhand had access to tap water on August 15, 2019, when the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched. Despite the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown disruptions, the State has connected 6.73 lakh (11.38 percent) homes to tap water in just 28 months. As of now, 10.18 lakh (17.20 percent) of the 59.23 lakh rural households in the state have access to running water.

PM Releases 10th Instalment of PM-KISAN

line with the continued commitment and resolve to empower grassroot level farmers, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released 10th instalment of financial benefit under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Saturday via video conferencing. This enabled the transfer of an amount of more than Rs. 20,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.

CESL Achieves 50 Lakhs LED Bulb Distribution Milestone Under Flagship Gram Ujala

CESL is providing high quality 7-Watt and 12-Watt LED bulbs with 3 years guarantee at a cost of INR 10 per bulb in exchange of working incandescent bulbs. Every household can exchange a maximum of 5 bulbs. The distribution has resulted in energy savings of 71,99,68,373.28 units per year with cost savings of 250 crores per year in the rural areas of aforementioned states. The programme is active till March 31, 2022.

India Imposes Anti Dumping Duty on 5 Chinese Goods for 5 Years

According to separate notifications of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the duties have been imposed on certain flat rolled products of aluminium; sodium hydrosulphite (used on dye industry); silicone sealant (used in manufacturing of solar photovoltaic modules, and thermal power applications); hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) component R-32; and hydrofluorocarbon blends (both have uses in refrigeration industry).

Youngsters of 15-18 Age Group to Get Caccine

The Prime Minister announced that from 3rd January 2022, Monday, vaccination will start for the children in the age group of 15-18 years. The move is likely to aid in education normalization in schools and will reduce the worry of the parents with school going children.  He also announced precaution dose for healthcare and frontline workers from 10th January 2022, Monday.

India Rebuilds 50,000 Houses Devastated by Earthquakes in Gorkha & Nuwakot Districts of Nepal

150 million dollars were allocated for the reconstruction in housing sector, 100 million as grant and 50 million in the form of Line of Credit. It has helped in the construction of 50,000 houses in Gorkha and Nuwakot districts of Nepal. The GoI has appointed UNDP and UNOPS as socio technical facilitation consultants for Gorkha and Nuwakot district in 2018.
