Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru and French company, Safran Helicopter Engines, had entered into a joint venture – Helicopter Engine MRO Private Limited – to set up this helicopter maintenance plant in Goa.
While responding to a request for medical evacuation from “JMSDF Sazanami”, the Navy launched a Sea King helicopter from INS Shikra and landed on the Japanese ship at sea, situated around 235 km off Mumbai. KONKAN-19 will involve Gunnery Shoots, Manoeuvres, Cross Deck Flying, ASW Screening and Air Defence exercise. The thrust of the KONKAN this year is on Anti-Air warfare, Anti-Surface Warfare, Flying Operations and Seamanship Evolutions of varying complexities.
“Tribal youths are naturally strong and physically fit. They have all the qualities to become ideal soldiers. To make them compatible with the requirements of the Army, we have decided to open Army schools in tribal areas.
