Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) on the Decline

As per data of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), there is declining trend in Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) seized during the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. This was stated by Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

Central Sanskrit Universities Bill, 2020 Stands Passed

The Central Sanskrit Universities Bill, 2020 has been passed by the Parliament after it was passed by Rajya Sabha today. The Lok Sabha had already passed the Bill on 12th December 2019. Speaking after the passing of the Bill, Union HRD Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ thanked the Members of the House for their support in passing the Bill .

Posts in IAF Open to All Officers Including Women

Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik on Monday informed Rajya Sabha that all posts in the Indian Air Force (IAF) are open to all officers including women.
“All posts in the IAF are open to all officers including women subject to vacancies, willingness, suitability, medical fitness and merit as per the policies in vogue,” the Minister said in a written reply to a Rajya Sabha question.

Maternity Benefit Disbursed to 1.36 Crore Beneficiaries Under PMMVY

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a maternity benefit scheme. As on 9th March 2020, 1.36 crore of eligible beneficiaries have received maternity benefit of one or more than one instalment amounting to Rs.5657.10 crore (US$ 809.43 million) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) directly in their bank accounts.

CRPF Gets 500 Trichy Assault Rifles

In November 2017, evaluation trials were carried out at the CRPF Academy in Kadarpur, Haryana. Functionality, accuracy and reliability of the weapon were tested.
As many as 15,000 rounds were fired. The rifle fired without any single stoppage, thus proving the reliability of the weapon.
