Army sources told that the Mark 1-A, which weighs 68 tonnes and features a 120mm main gun, has cleared all tests, and that cost negotiations with its developer, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), are complete. The sources added that the Army has pushed the file to place the order, which will be done “soon”.
According to Mr Gupte, “Currently our annual sourcing from India is around US$ 1 billion. Our goal is to double that over a number of years”. He added that this could possibly happen in the next 5-10 years.

The ‘vulture restaurant’ has gained quick popularity among the locals for working towards the conservation of several species of vultures.
