KVIC’s Unique Project BOLD to Boost Tribals’ Income and Bamboo-Based Economy in Rajasthan

A unique scientific exercise serving the combined national objectives of reducing desertification and providing livelihood and multi-disciplinary rural industry support has been initiated by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). The project named “Bamboo Oasis on Lands in Drought” (BOLD) is the first of its kind exercise in India which was launched on July 4- 2021 from the tribal village NichlaMandwa in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Indian Army Gears Up for Exercise ‘Indra’

To increase cooperation in defence areas and to exchange strategic activities in the armies of India and Russia, both the countries will organise a joint army exercise from August 1 to 15 in Russia. To take part in the exercise ‘Indra’, troops of the Indian army have started preparations at the Pokhran field firing range.

Nepal India Revise Railway Service Agreement

According to the revised text of the Letter of Exchange, all authorised private container train operators (Indian as well as Nepali) will be able to utilise the Indian railway network to carry freight containers for Nepal’s imports or exports, ending the monopoly of the Indian government-owned Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), the report published in the Kathmandu Post daily said.
