India’s Transition to Green Economy to Create 50 Million Jobs, Contribute US$ 1 Trillion in Economic Impact: WEF

As per a World Economic Forum report, India’s transition to a green economy has the potential to contribute >US$ 1 trillion in economic impact by 2030 and generate >50 million employment opportunities. The report added that the economic impact could expand to US$ 15 trillion by 2070. The WEF published a report on ‘Mission 2070: A Green New Deal for a Net-Zero India’, which offers a roadmap for India’s transition.

Army Steps Up Efforts to Safeguard Siliguri Corridor

Siliguri Corridor is a narrow stretch of land bordering Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh measuring approximately 170X60km, at the narrowest it is about 20-22km. The geostrategic significance of the corridor comes about in terms of it being a narrow piece of land which connects the northeast India to the rest of the country through which major national highways, railway line, pipelines, OFC connectivity and the rest pass.

12 Navies from Indian Ocean Region to Participate in Indian Navy’s Maritime Conclave

Navy Chiefs of 12 countries from the Indian Ocean Region will participate in the Indian Navy’s three-day-long maritime conclave starting on Sunday in Goa, according to an official statement. This will be the third edition of the Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC-21). It will build upon the working level deliberations of the Goa Maritime Symposium-21 held in May this year, the Indian Navy’s statement mentioned.
