Swami Satyanand Saraswati died last Tuesday after short illness

Head of Hindu Monastery of Africa Passes On

Swami Satyanand Saraswati was taken ill about a week ago and had been on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he, unfortunately, transited peacefully, a statement signed by Bramacharini Adimata of the Monastery in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency stated.

The Hindu Monastery of Africa regrets to announce the death of its Head, Swami Satyanand Saraswati in the early hours of Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

Swami Satyanand Saraswati was taken ill about a week ago and had been on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he, unfortunately, transited peacefully, a statement signed by Bramacharini Adimata of the Monastery in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency stated.

According to the statement, Swami Satyanand Saraswati was initiated by his Guru Swami Ghananand Saraswati into the Divine Order of Sannyasi on February 12, 2012.

Swami Satyanand was a Ghanaian born a Catholic and in his adult life became a Hindu and worked for the Hindu Dharma for over 35 years.

Swami started his path into spiritualism at a tender age. After a successful career as an accountant, Swami renounced to live in the Monastery.

At the eternal departure of his Guru, Swami Ghananand, Swami Satyanand built a shrine in his honour at the headquarters of the Hindu Monastery of Africa, Ghana, where daily devotion is offered.

According to the statement, He helped his Guru, Swami Ghananand to restructure the Hindu Monastery of Africa, Ghana, to spread the knowledge of Sanatana Dharma.

Under the divine leadership of his Guru Swami Ghananand, the Hindu Monastery of Africa, Ghana, established five branches in Ghana and a branch in Togo and published 15 books all on Hinduism.

Swami Satyanand was born on March 5th, 1938 at Brafoyow a town near Cape Coast in the Central Region.

Further funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
