100 Entities Onboard to use Aadhaar-Based Offline Verification

By leveraging Aadhaar Offline Verification methods—such as QR code-based verification and secure, digitally signed documents—entities can now “Show, Share, and Verify” identity information without requiring real-time connectivity to UIDAI’s central database.

New Delhi – In a significant milestone for the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), over 100 entities have successfully onboarded as Offline Verification Seeking Entities (OVSEs) within three months of the system’s rollout. This achievement marks a major step forward in enabling secure, consent-based, and paperless identity verification through the Aadhaar offline mechanism.

The onboarded entities span a wide range of sectors, including government departments at the central and state levels, fintech companies, hospitality and event management firms, educational and examination bodies, identity verification providers, background verification organizations, and workforce validation companies.

Integration into the Aadhaar Offline Verification ecosystem is expected to enhance service delivery timelines, reduce operational friction, and lower costs associated with physical document handling and manual verification.

By leveraging Aadhaar Offline Verification methods—such as QR code-based verification and secure, digitally signed documents—entities can now “Show, Share, and Verify” identity information without requiring real-time connectivity to UIDAI’s central database. This approach ensures that Aadhaar holders share only the minimum necessary data, prioritizing privacy and consent.

The distributed model also strengthens resilience, scalability, and security, aligning with India’s broader vision of inclusive and future-ready Digital Public Infrastructure. UIDAI’s initiative complements ongoing efforts to enhance citizens’ ease of living, enabling faster onboarding, simplified processes, and greater control over personal information.

This milestone underscores growing confidence in Aadhaar-enabled, privacy-first digital verification frameworks that empower both service providers and residents while maintaining transparency and user-centricity.
